Start your collection already, you’re close enough to Zoidberg and already broken into Volvo’s maintenance schedule. Has the leather you want too.

Oh no, read the description. It’s in Florida so no inspection. Check engine light and other warning lights are on. It has an accident reported to Carfax.

Recent maintenance completed. Because of course.

Somebody is going to get a cheap R and a lot of expensive repair bills.  That thing looks scary to me.

Wow yeah that presents surprisingly poorly. BaT really needs to start doing quality control on these listings. Like... at least wash the car before taking glamour shots.

It has several red flags including multiple dash warning lights and accident history. You might literally need to bring a trailer for this one.

Not to mention the reported $2000 a year in maintenance to keep these cars running properly.  They are cool and all, but no thanks.

I mean, I spend close to $1,000/yr on upkeep of my E46. But it’s not all at once because of a “failed body control module” or something.

If I won the lottery tomorrow no one believes me but I’d get a V70R. And then I’d probably modify it.

I’d also get a 911R, but you know, for the daily kids-to-school routine, the Volvo would be the one.

So it sounds like a P2 R car would be about twice as much... I have never driven a P2 Volvo, so I don’t have any direct experience. On paper, it looks like it ticks all the boxes. I have heard that in reality it is like “driving a planet.”

My parents have a P2 XC70 and it’s not exciting to drive. But I will say the 5-cyl turbo is a better match to its 5-speed auto than our 3.2 n/a straight 6 is with its 6-speed auto. I almost ALWAYS want to be a gear lower (or two) than our P3 XC70 wants to be.

However, I’ve driven a couple P2 V70 Rs, both manuals, and they were good fun. Looking forward, going through the gears , it feels pretty sporty. Put it in reverse and look behind you, suddenly you remember how much Volvo wagon is behind you. A lot.
